Burnley centre Kestrels, July 2013

A group of very obliging Kestrels photographed at the point of fledging
in Burnley town centre. Five young in total, three on the wing on the
evening of my visit, with two others remaining at the nest site.

Not the best place to land!

Not quite getting the hang of landing!

I returned the following day (27th July) and only the runt of the brood was
left in the nest.

Harlequins and Barrow's Goldeneye, Iceland

Two of the target Birds for most birders visiting Iceland are these
Birds. Of the two, Harlequin is far more widespread and relatively
easy to see. I saw Barrow's Goldeneye at Lake Myvatn only,
where as Harlequin was at many coastal, an inland sites.
